Neuroanesthesia Fellowship

This program offers one 1-year ICPNT-accredited fellowship position. The program is designed to offer 12 months of post-residency subspecialty anesthesia training in the care of adults with intracranial masses, neurovascular pathologies, and spine pathologies in diverse settings including the operating room, MRI hybrid suite, and interventional radiology suite. The fellow will have the opportunity to team up with a cohort of people across multiple disciplines, including neurosurgeons, neurologists, and intraoperative monitoring technicians to provide advanced subspecialty care in a variety of craniotomy approaches including awake craniotomies. The fellow will also have dedicated rotations in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit as well as opportunities to supplement their education with electives in neuroradiology, pediatric neuroanesthesia, and intraoperative encephalography.
As a fellow, 80% of time (4 days/week) is spent in fellowship training under the supervision of neuroanesthesia faculty, with rotations including clinical neuroanesthesia, intraoperative neuromonitoring, neuroradiology, and neurocritical care. The remaining time will be in the general operating rooms in the role of attending, with 0.2 FTE worth of minimum call commitment. Compensation is commensurate to the distribution of roles.
All applicants must be eligible for an unlimited medical license through the Oregon Medical Board. Applicants must be legally able to work in the U.S. or eligible to obtain authorization to work. We may be able to sponsor H-1B visas.

The mission of the Neuroanesthesiology Program is to develop expert clinicians and leaders by providing advanced training in the perioperative management of patients with complex neurologic pathologies in a learning atmosphere that nurtures intellectual curiosity and innovation.
