About HERO Kids Registry
HERO Kids is the first registry of its kind for children in the nation. It was developed by the Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs, in partnership with Oregon Health Authority’s Emergency Medical Services for Children program (EMSC), and Oregon Portable Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Registry.
Development included input and expertise from emergency medical services agencies, professional organizations representing pediatric health care providers, hospitals, clinics, and public health programs. Family members of children with special health needs provided their expert advice, as did youth who might benefit from the service.
HERO Kids Registry is securely housed at OHSU. In the event of a medical emergency, emergency medical services and hospital emergency departments have immediate access.
