The DOM P&T timeline and process allows for peer review by the Committee Chair and members, with iterative feedback to candidates and Divisions Chiefs/Institute Directors. For AY25-specific deadlines, please refer to this AY25 P&T Timeline.

January 24
Announced to Faculty & Divisions of Annual Processes & Timeline

March 13
P&T Primer/Overview (Open to All Faculty)
This virtual session will be recorded and available for viewing, for those who are unable to make the live session.

Spring
Division Heads and Institute Directors complete faculty annual reviews and assessments regarding readiness for promotion.
Note: all faculty in “provisional” status must be proposed for appointment this cycle.

May 31
Deadline for submission of:

  1. CV in OHSU format
  2. Educator's Portfolio
  3. P&T Division Head Request Form

Submit documents electronically to Department of Medicine.

June (date TBD)
Review of initial documents by DOM Chair & P&T Committee Chair.

Late June
Initial review feedback sent to Division Heads and Institute Directors, and then to candidates.

July 10
All candidates moving ahead for formal P&T evaluation this cycle are required to attend a P&T Workshop.

August 16
Deadline for document submission of:

  1. CV in OHSU format
  2. Educator's Portfolio
  3. Personal Statement
  4. 4 most recent Faculty Evaluations
    1. 2023-24
    2. 2022-23
    3. 2021-22
    4. 2020-21
  5. Division Head Letter of Support
  6. Teaching Evaluations
  7. Referee List (list of internal and external letter writers)

Late August / Early September
Requests to referees are sent out by DOM.

November 4
DOM P&T Committee meets.

November 11
DOM P&T Committee feedback sent to Division Heads and Institute Directors, and then to candidates.

November 25
Deadline for submission of ALL final materials to DOM (Submit electronically to Department of Medicine).

July 2025
Decisions are announced by the School of Medicine.
