The DOM P&T Committee is the "entry point" for DOM faculty considering or seeking promotion or tenure.  The DOM P&T Committee is comprised of a diverse group of clinical and research faculty, with representation from all DOM Divisions. 

The DOM P&T timeline and process allows for peer review by the Committee Chair and members, with iterative feedback to candidates and Divisions Chiefs/Institute Directors.  The mission of this Committee is to provide DOM faculty with a collegial and constructive review of candidacy for promotion or tenure, with the goal of optimizing likelihood of promotion when reviewed by the SOM P&T Committee.

The deadline for submission of initial documents (CV and Educator’s Portfolio from candidate and Division Head/Institute Director Candidate Support document) is May 31^st.  Following an initial review of and feedback on those documents from the DOM P&T Chair and DOM Chair, there is an August 16th deadline for submission of all documents (CV, Educator’s Portfolio, Personal Statement, Time & Effort Statement and Referee form from candidate AND formal letter of support as well as most recent 4 annual reviews from Division Chief/Institute Director).  Based on detailed feedback from the DOM P&T Committee review in the fall, final documents are to be submitted by the candidate in mid-November.  Thereafter, the SOM P&T Committee reviews packets between January and June, with decisions on promotion and tenure announced in June or July.
