Forensic Psychiatry Clinical Rotations
Rotation schedule overview
The fellowship year is divided into two 6-month blocks. One block is spent at the Oregon State Hospital (OSH) and one block is spent at multiple sites. In addition, didactics are held every Friday afternoon at OHSU.
The Oregon State Hospital (OSH) is located in Salem, Oregon. On this block, fellows spend four days per week doing a variety of forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility and Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) evaluations. OSH was recently awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital, Behavioral Health Care and Laboratory Services, and recently became the first inpatient program to earn national certification for its Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program from the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification.
The Multi-Site Block is composed of various sites in Portland and Hillsboro. Currently, this includes time at:
- Washington County Jail
- Multnomah County Detention Center
- Mental Health Treatment Court
- NW Regional Re entry Center (NWRRC)
- Private Practice with
- Dr. Lopez
