OHSU Global Southeast Asia is improving health on a global scale through education, research and clinical initiatives in partnership with leading universities and partners.
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology global women’s health
The OHSU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology advances women’s health through health care, research and education. The department has built global health partnerships that focus on strengthening health systems in underserved communities.
OHSU-Lao Nutrition Education and Research Partnership
Our partnership with the Lao Ministry of Health's National Institute of Nutrition works to address high rates of malnutrition in Laos. The program focuses on providing nutrition education and training to health care providers.
Center for Global Child Health Research
The Center for Global Child Health Research strives to improve child health worldwide, with a focus on areas and populations with few resources. The program includes research on preventing, diagnosing and treating childhood infection.
OHSU School of Nursing Global
School of Nursing Global has partnerships with universities and colleges worldwide that enable our faculty to consult and teach abroad. Universities and organizations also host our nursing students in many international locations. In turn, partner institutions can send faculty, students and practitioners to visit the School of Nursing through the Visiting Scholars Program.
OHSU Internal Medicine Global Health Program
The OHSU Internal Medicine Global Health Program is dedicated to improving access to health care; medical education; and health care quality in Botswana. The program offers residents an opportunity to train in Botswana. The program also works with community sites to provide patient-centered, culturally sensitive care for underserved populations.
Department of Anesthesiology’s HOPE Program
The HOPE program of OHSU's Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine enables anesthesiology residents, fellows and medical students to provide high-quality anesthesia care to patients outside the United States. Sites have included Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Ethiopia and India.
